The Pacific shore is diverse with its sandy beaches and its spectacular shoreline flowers plus its tidepools and fascinating creatures that inhabit them. Elephant Seals: Those Magnificent Diving Machines

Having been called the "ultimate diving machines," the Northern Elephant Seal is the most sophisticated diving mammal and the largest, most powerful pinneped. Distinguished by the male's elongated, trunk-like nose, it's often seen on beaches from Mexico to Alaska. Sand Discovery Kit

The Sand Discovery Kit has been put together by the Education Division of the International Sand Collector's Society and the Geology Department at Pasadena City College. It was created to help teachers begin to use sand in their classrooms. Kits are sent out free of charge. However, in order to help them continue to provide kits to others they ask for a $30 contribution to the International Sand Collectors Society if you decide to keep the kit.
