Funding for Ocean Immersions

Need funding for your school’s Ocean Immersion? There are several agencies with grant funding opportunities for science education. MARE can help you write your grant proposal! NOAA California Bay Watershed Education and Training

The NOAA Bay Watershed Education and Training (BWET) Program provides funds to support environment-based education throughout the watersheds of San Francisco Bay, Monterey Bay, and Santa Barbara Channel.

California Coastal Commission Whale Tail

Toyota TAPESTRY Grants for Science Teachers

A partnership between Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and the National Science Teachers Association, the Toyota TAPESTRY Grants for Science Teachers program offers grants to K–12 science teachers for innovative projects that enhance science education in the school and/or school district.

The Office of Naval Research provides funding in support of education programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) which will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers (for grades K–10).

Amgen Foundation Science Education Grant

The Amgen Foundation is committed to raising the value of science literacy on a national and local level.  Amgen Foundation Science Education Grants give priority consideration to projects directed at (1) Teacher quality and professional development in math and science and (2) Pivotal hands-on science experience through programs that provide students and teachers with opportunities for hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences.

Toshiba America Foundation grant

With the Toshiba America Foundation grant, elementary teachers bring their best new teaching ideas to life. K-5 grade teachers are invited to use Toshiba America Foundation's short application form to describe a set of lessons or a hands-on project they would like to introduce in their own classrooms.
