A program of the Lawrence Hall of Science that seeks to increase ocean literacy through informal and formal education initiatives
Marine Activities, Resources & Education

This program, developed in 1979, provides hand-on Marine Environmental Education for approixmately 3,510 children each year. The Berkeley Marina Experience is in the Nature Center, which has a 100 gallon saltwater aquarium that features animals found in San Francisco Bay, a touch table, and a cormorant display. The Nature Center at the Berkeley Marina provides easy access to the rocky seashore, Berkeley pier, and docks. A research boat program is offered for 5-12 classes, and a sailing boat program is offered for grades 4-12. Other programs are available for grades K-12.
